A Birthday Party and a lil Easter decorating!

March 12, 2011

Daddy was working this Saturday planting corn so it was just me and you 2 lil boys!  First off was this great little party:

What a cute invite and idea!  This is for David & Kathryn Wood's oldest daughter!

This was the best picture I could get of my little boy's in green.
Andrew loved this little trampoline!
I think someone had fun!

I was unable to get a lot of pics of all of the adorable setup but Kathryn made peanut butter and jelly & ham and cheese sandwiches cut in either a princess crown or a frog shape!  So cute!  Sad I don't have pics but you two little boys gave me a run for my money this time . . . Aidan did not want to jump in the jumpy castle b/c "it was a princess castle and boys DO NOT go in pink castles".  (I hope you still feel this way in about 10 years)  Then you decided to go to the bathroom without telling me and I could not find you and panicked.  It was time to go after that.  Oh and Andrew you wanted your "cake" as soon as you laid eyes on the cupcakes and threw a wonderful little fit b/c you are too young to understand that you have to wait until the birthday girl blows out her candles!  Fun times for mommy but we made it through!  Caroline was as adorable and sassy as ever and we are so thankful to have such great friends!

Then it was home for a nap and when Andrew woke up he helped me decorate the house with the few Easter decorations that I had.  ( I have now purchased a few more- pictures to come!)

Andrew loved helping putting the eggs in:

This sweet smile melts my heart!

Added pink candles to the lanterns and the Easter wreath behind the K.  Not a very good pic . . .

All in all a good day with my sweet boys:)

Krewe of Carpenter!

Aidan,

This year in K4 @ St. Joseph's School, the K4 classes were responsible for making a float for the Krewe of Carpenter parade at school on March 8, 2011!  The first day you found out about the responsibility of making a float, you told me you wanted to be Woody from Toy Story 3 and wear your Woody costume.  I said, "Sure!  Maybe we can make your wagon into Bronco and you can ride it!"  Clearly Mommy didn't quite realize what this meant or how much hard work it would entail!  After enlisting the help of your Daddy, Grammy and Nanny and completing some internet research, we came up with a plan.  Daddy also had gotten some ideas from McCullough's daddy, Timothy Lawson.  The competition was on and we all pitched in!

The making of Bronco:

Daddy putting on the chicken wire so we can stuff it with the paper.

The finished product!!

Your face during the big REVEAL!  This happy face made all of the hard work worth it!
He even has a tail!!

So proud!

Contemplating the lasso . . .in the end, it was a no go according to this lil Woody.  Who knows?

So handsome!  I love it, Aidan!

All loaded up in the school gym, ready to roll!

Daddy had to rush to get Andrew to school but he made it just in time to help us!

Gree came to see you in the Parade!

Another pic w/ Gree and Gus aka Mario behind you

You led the parade!

They had to move the parade inside because of inclement weather:(

Whose this guy?  The mudbug hockey mascot!  He was telling you how cool he thought your float was!  I don't think you knew what to think of him . . .

But, you appeased me anyway and smiled!

Avery aka Tangled Princess!

sweet McCullough in her crawfish her daddy, Timothy Lawson (right) worked many late hours on!  I love it!

Mommy helping you!  I was untangling the beads and handing them to you to throw!

Action shot!!  All the kids keep yelling, "Woody!, Woody!"

Whew- it was a tough job, but . . .

Back to the monkey house for king cake!  Aidan, McCullough and Sawyer. . .

I love you so much, little man!

Pic with Daddy, I think we bothered you b/c we were cutting into your King cake eating!

Your mardi gras loot- you wanted me to take a pic of you!

You decided to smile in this one!

What a fun day that was totally worth all the hardwork!  Thankfully we have a few more years until it's Andrew's turn!
